About Countryside

Countryside Elementary School is one of six elementary schools within the nationally recognized Edina Public Schools.

Countryside provides a personalized learning experience for students K-5 with opportunities including a maker space, school garden, service projects, and student leadership. Recent building enhancements created flexible learning spaces where we offer students creative and innovative opportunities to learn, as well as grow personally in understanding themselves and how they learn best. We engage all students in the process of learning by having high expectations for all and providing support that helps students achieve their highest potential.

Building Relationships

CharacterStrong (or as we like to call it - CountrysideStrong) teaches skills that will help students be Kind and successful in school and in life. Our big campaign this year is “CountrysideStrong Where we ALL belong” We want ALL our students and families to know that they belong here at Countryside. We have three main goals for students: Be Kind, Be Strong, and Be Well.

  • Be Kind: Social skills like listening, friendship, solving conflicts, and leadership.
    • These skills are taught alongside Empathy, Respect, & Cooperation
  • Be Strong: Skills that help students focus, stay organized, and set goals.
    • These skills are taught alongside Responsibility, Courage, & Perseverance
  • Be Well: Skills that help students handle their emotions and deal with stress.
    • These skills are taught alongside Gratitude, Honesty, & Creativity
